Lucero comes from solid Carthusian bloodlines which are known in the Andalusian horse world as the famous “Hierro del Bocado” lines.

One both her sire and dam’s side are pure Carthusian horses bred by Isabel Merello Álvarez Campana known as Viuda de Terry and brought to the US by Greg Garrison (Garrison Ranch) where he continued breeding the “Bocado” line.

Later, horses imported to the US from breeders like Don Juan Manuel de Urquijo y Novales (Conde de Odiel), Rafael Romero Benítez, Miguel Ángel de Cárdenas, Jorge Herrera Uslar, Carlos Montijano-Carbonell, and Pedro Salas Garau were added to Lucero’s bloodline.

In addition to her mostly “Bocado” background she has some “Escalera” and “Militar” breeding.
